The Ritsumeikan Trust opened an office in London to further higher education exchange between the U.K. and Japan, and SOAS, University of London, and Ritsumeikan launch the “SOAS-Ritsumeikan Global Partnership” in London. The objectives of the Partnership and this event are:

1). To gain understanding and support for the SOAS-Ritsumeikan partnership in the UK and Japan for its strategic pedagogic and development co-operation initiatives;

2). To build upon the pedagogic exchanges between SOAS and Ritsumeikan, drawing from the respective strengths of the two institutions; and

3). To gather ideas and support for launching the “Partnership for Africa” initiative
