Join the UK Japan Music Society!
Now in its 20th year, the UK-Japan Music Society is recruiting new members. Rehearsals take place in London each week from October.
The 20th Anniversary Special Christmas Concert will take place on Saturday 10 December at St John’s Wood Church in London, with international young soloists and the reputed UK-Japan Choir. The concert starts with a specially written organ piece which depicts the suffering and hope of the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami, followed by Handel’s Messiah, which also depicts suffering and hope.
Jonathan Gregory, Founder & Music Director, will direct this 20th Christmas Concert for the UK-Japan Music Society which he establshed in September 1992, in order to provide a longer term initiative to promote good relations through music and cultural activities involving both Japanese and British (other non Japanese) people. The UK-Japan Music Society has presented many memorable performances to mark major milestones of UK-Japan relations and history in the past 20 years in fulfilment of this vision.
Members of the Japan Society are invited to take part in this well known Music Society as singers or in other supportive roles. Please contact Mrs Yoshimi Gregory for further details.
