Kabuki, a Photographic Exhibition at The Hospital Club’s iconic gallery, features a stunning set of images of Kabuki’s brightest young actors, photographed by acclaimed portrait photographer Frederic Aranda over the last five years, during performances and backstage at London’s Barbican and Sadler’s Wells theatres. Limited edition prints of photographs in the exhibition will be available for sale.
This exhibition will provide a unique opportunity to catch a glimpse into a closed and rarefied world; this is the first time that backstage pictures of Kabuki have been exhibited or put up for sale, even in Japan.
This is a charity exhibition which will provide a welcome boost to long-term fundraising and media activities to provide crucial ongoing support to the people who have been affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Thanks to the support of the partners in this event, all proceeds from the sale of photographs will go to the Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund.
