12th World Haiku Contest Results!
The Japan Society would like to thank everyone for their support of the 12th World Children’s Haiku Contest.
Once again we were delighted by the response from so many schools and individual pupils from throughout the UK. It was obvious from the entries how much effort pupils had put into their Haiku. This year’s theme of ‘Festivals,’ saw haiku entries from as far afield as the Shetland Islands, including Bonfire Night, the ‘Up Helly Aa’ Fire Festival and a more humorous haiku on Shrove Tuesday!
The judges from the Embassy of Japan, Japan Airlines, the World Haiku Club and the Japan Society, were very impressed with the imaginative artwork produced to accompany the haiku.
