The 13th World Children’s Haiku Contest 2013 – 2014 Results

We are pleased to announce the winners of the 13th World Haiku Contest 2014. The Japan Society would like to thank everyone for their support of this year’s contest, which saw a record number of Haiku. Entrants were asked to compose their own Haiku on the theme of DREAMS and submit it with an accompanying illustration, for a chance to win a Cannon digital camera.

We were extremely pleased to see a great deal of interest from teachers and pupils and it has been a pleasure to observe the high standard of entries received from schools across the UK. This year’s theme of ‘Dreams,’ saw some very poignant Haiku including entries from the Isle of Wight and for the second year running from the Shetland Islands.

The judges from the Embassy of Japan, Japan Airlines, the World Haiku Club and the Japan Society, were also very impressed with the number of outstanding entries produced throughout the contest.
