Hiroko Imada
Born in Tokyo, Hiroko Imada studied at the Tokyo University of Art and Design and later at The Slade School of Fine Art (University College London). She works in various different media and has lectured at universities including University College London and University of the Arts London as well as at art colleges and colleges of further education throughout the UK.

She specializes in teaching Japanese woodblock printmaking, papermaking, and folded screen making, and established a Japanese woodblock printmaking course at the British Museum.

In 2001, in connection with the nationwide ‘Japan 2001’ events, she has held workshops at the British Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Durham Oriental Museum and Bristol City Museum, as well as at many other museums and art galleries.
Her recent workshops include the Woodblock Printmaking Workshop at the Chester Beatty Library and the Graphic Studio Dublin. She also works for the Japanese Art Workshop Event with Japan 21 (The Japan Society) and the most recent one with them was held at the Embassy of Japan.
