Paul Carter, who worked with Mr Yukio Hatoyama for two years in the 1990s, will use his political experience and close acquaintance with the new Japanese Prime Minister and the way he works, to discuss the challenges for the Tokyo government and its prospects for success. Drinks will be available from 6.00 pm and a light sandwich supper afterwards. This event in in association with The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and its members are very welcome.
The Hatoyama government has given the expectation of a number of policy shifts and methodology changes from those which are normally expected in Japanese governments. It came to power at a particularly difficult time and is faced with a number of challenges which will require strong leadership, firm conviction and party cohesion. Paul Carter is in an excellent position to discuss the new government’s prospects.
Paul Carter is now a company turnaround specialist, writer on Japanese politics and adviser to Britain’s Conservative Party.
We are grateful to JETRO for kindly hosting this event.
