- Creating an Environment of Understanding.
- Focus Groups for Business, Arts, Younger Members and Conversation.
- Excellent opportunities to meet other corporate and individual members.
- Membership about half Japanese and half British.
- Leading Role in UK-Japanese relations.
Founded in 1891, The Japan Society is the longest established and principal non-governmental organisation involved in the study of UK-Japan relations. We have a wide membership, open to all individual or as corporate members.
A Charity with an educational objective, the Society provides lectures, publications, visits and a wide range of other activities, which serve to enhance UK-Japan relations.
The Society has a strong business focus; this is of importance in view of the increasingly close industrial, commercial and cultural relations between the two countries.
Because of its age and the breadth of its aim, the Society also periodically fulfils a coordinating role in UK-Japan affairs.
