Pupils were given Japanese language and culture classes prior to their school exchange visit to Japan.

Gonenkai conducted a survey among 500 Japanese and 500 English students, to discover how they spent their Sunday. The results were shared  and discussed during a stay by Gonenkai members in Japan.

A group of 16 young Japanese (aged 12 to 24 years) came to Coventry to meet with members of the Kennedy Youth Club and discuss peace.

Hampton Hill Junior School
Visit from Johyama Elementary School, Nagano

Ten children and three teachers from Johyama School lived in host families for five days. They spent three days at Hampton Hill School and attended classes as well as calligraphy and origami demonstrations.

Willoughby Primary School, Leicestershire
Visit from Komaki Elementary School, Nagano

Six children accompanied by two teachers and the head teacher from Komaki Elementary School visited Willoughby Primary and stayed with families in the village.

The theme for this visit from Groundwork Fukuoka was ‘Education for Sustainable Development’. Students from Kaisei High School took part in practical and educational activities as well as a cultural evening with partner schools in Wales.

School Newspaper exchange

Ingleton Middle School and their partner school, Hiroshima Jogakuin, choose groups of pupils to work together on the production of a school newspaper. These are produced each term including articles from children in both schools and used as part of a cultural exchange.
