Welcome to the Japan Society Library The Japan Society Library is perhaps the oldest in Britain which deals principally with Anglo-Japanese relations. The collection numbers some 6,000 volumes, covers all aspects of Japanese life and culture and is one of the best available collections with a thread of Anglo-Japanese relations. Amongst the wide range of material, which has been assembled in the century since the establishment of the Society there are many books, including several classics of Western writing on Japan, which have been donated by their authors. The collection is open to members and non-members for research purposes. Members are entitled to borrow up to two books from the open collection for a period of up to a month.
