  The Photo Catalogue

The Japan Society is particularly fortunate to have a unique collection of photographs relating to Japan taken from the early 1860s to the 1950s. The collection includes albums of photographs by such well known photographers as Felice Beato, Baron von Stillfried, Usui Shusaburo and Tamamura Kozaburo, as well as work by less famous photographers as the French amateur photographer and Japanophile, Hugues Krafft, and a wide range of photographs illustrating the activities of the Japan Society, and Anglo-Japanese relations in general.

The range of subject matter is broad, with the collection being particularly strong in representing the history, landscape, culture and people of Japan, and Britain's relations with Japan, during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Below are a selected list of Reproduction Rates for image usage. A full list of rates is available upon request. Included in the full list are rates for Advertising Cinema and other film media usage.
