Minutes of the 110th Annual General Meeting
of The Japan Society
Held at the Japanese Embassy, 101-104 Piccadilly, London W1
at 6.00 p.m. on Monday, 4th June 2007.
The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming all those present; he gave a particular welcome to the Society's President, the Japanese Ambassador, and thanked him for attending and, once again, for making the Embassy's ballroom available to the Society. The Chairman expressed great thanks to the embassy staff.
Accounts 2006
The audited accounts for the period 1 January - 31 December 2006 were approved.
Re-appointment of Richard Place Dobson as Auditors
It was agreed to reappoint Richard Place Dobson as auditors, and to authorise the Council to approve remuneration.
Election to the Council
The chairman explained that there were five vacancies for ordinary membership to the Council to be filled at this AGM and that there were seven candidates. These were:
