Free Japanese ikebana workshop for young people ages 12 - 19!

Immerse yourself to the world of Japanese art and learn to create stunning Ikebana arrangements with Ohara Ikebana Master Miyuki.


What Is Ikebana?
Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, known for its simplicity, balance, and harmony with nature. In this workshop, you'll learn the fundamental principles and techniques of Ikebana, allowing you to create stunning arrangements that reflect the beauty of nature and Japanese culture.


Who Can Join?
Young people ages 12-19. Absolutely no prior experience is required in this session designed for beginners. All materials will be provided.

What You'll Experience:

  • Demonstration by a qualified Japanese Ikebana master, Miyuki
  • Discover the history and philosophy of Ikebana
  • Hands-on practice with fresh, seasonal flowers
  • Create your very own Ikebana masterpiece

About Miyuki Griffin from the Ohara School of Ikebana

Miyuki Griffin is a native Japanese floral artist and a distinguished 3rd Master of the Ohara School of Ikebana. In November 2025, she was appointed President of the school’s England Chapter, where she continues to champion this traditional art form. Beyond her leadership, Miyuki is an active educator who leads workshops across the region, including sessions at Niwaki HQ in Shaftesbury, The Country Crib in Sherborne, and in Salisbury. Her extensive expertise is further highlighted by an Intermediate Floral Design and Art certificate awarded by NAFAS in January 2022, as well as her dedicated role as a flower arranger at Salisbury Cathedral.
