The Japan Society
Education Education Activities

Education Activities

Education is one of The Japan Society’s primary activities and we provide a range of support to schools who wish to teach about Japan. Read more about The Japan Society’s education resources and activities below or contact the education team

Online Resources

Our range of free online resources were designed to engage and inspire students and support teaching about Japan. These can be downloaded from our website and cover a range of topics.

Loan Resources

Schools in the UK can make use of our loan service to borrow cultural items and artefacts to support teaching about Japan. Both individual loan items and our popular Activity Chest are available to borrow free of charge.

School Visits

Under the Japan in Your Classroom (JIYC) scheme our Japanese volunteers visit primary and secondary schools to introduce aspects of Japanese life and culture, and share Japan-related skills.

Another option for those organising Japan-related events at school is to use our Access to Experts list to find cultural experts who can deliver tailored workshops or presentations to school students. Please note that the experts are professionals and charge a fee.

Advice

If you are planning to teach about Japan or host a Japan-related event at your school or organisation and cannot find what you are looking for on our website, The Japan Society Education Team may be able to provide assistance. Contact education and one of our team will be in touch.
