About Aya Burbanks

Aya grew up on Sakurajima Island in Kagoshima, Japan - one of the most scenic places in Japan, and home to one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Surrounded by her art-loving family, she learnt calligraphy from an early age, with her passion for art growing ever since.

As an artist, Aya enjoys all kinds of painting with her specialities in Sumi-e ink painting and Japanese calligraphy - in both of which she holds a master license. Her favourite Japanese artists are Hokusai and Hiroshige.
