Calling all 16-19 year olds - Applications Now Open for the Japan Youth Collective 2025/2026!

Following the success of our 2023/2024 pilot programme, The Japan Society is thrilled to bring back the Japan Youth Collective for 2025-2026. This exciting 8-month programme gives members the chance to deepen their passion for Japan, make new friends, and develop valuable skills. It begins with a 3-day, 2-night residential orientation from 5-7 August 2025, followed by regular fortnightly Collective Catch-ups and hands-on Japan Labs until the end of March 2026.

Throughout the programme, members will collaborate with The Japan Society and learn from experts in Japan-related fields, working towards a final project created by the Collective. This is an opportunity to expand your knowledge of Japan, gain hands-on experience, and explore exciting career opportunities in a supportive environment.

We're looking for members who:
✔ Are 16-19 years old and live in London or near the Greater London area
✔ Are open-minded and excited to explore new perspectives on Japan
✔ Have a passion for Japan and a strong curiosity to explore more
✔ Have limited opportunities to learn about Japan on their own
✔ Want to connect with like-minded people and be part of a dynamic team

The Japan Youth Collective is designed for young people who are eager to explore Japan but have limited opportunities to do so. We encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented in this field—no prior experience with Japan or Japanese language is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
