Rakugo Performance - Photos

On Wednesday 30 April 2025, in collaboration with Japan House London, Master storytellers Kanariya Eiraku, Kanariya Koraku, and Kanariya Knight from the English Rakugo Association presented an evening filled with laughter. Rakugo, Japan’s centuries-old comedic storytelling art, captivated audiences with its wit and charm. The event, held at Japan House London, provided an engaging introduction to rakugo, followed by classic tales brimming with clever wordplay, absurd misunderstandings, and timeless humour. Many stories transported the audience to Japan’s past, showcasing feuding couples, curious monks, and eccentric scholars navigating hilarious situations.

 

An enjoyable Q&A session followed the performances, providing insights into the world of rakugo, and the evening concluded with a group photo to mark the occasion.
