Lecture by Julia Longbottom CMG, British Ambassador to Japan 2026 - Photos

On Thursday 12 February 2026, British Ambassador to Japan, Julia Longbottom CMG, joined us to address The Japan Society at Nomura. Many members attended in-person, while others viewed online via livestream.

As this marks Ambassador Longbottom’s final year serving as British Ambassador to Japan, her remarks carried special significance. She offered fascinating insight on the last year in UK-Japan relations, later taking questions from the audience.

To close the event, our Honorary Vice Chair, Bill Emmott, delivered warm words of thanks to Ambassador Longbottom for her dedicated service and longstanding support of the Society.

We are very pleased also to have welcomed Ambassador to Japan Designate, Corin Robertson CMG to the event. We look forward to working closely with Corin after her appointment!
