Earlier this year, the UK Government and the Government of Japan signed an Industrial Strategy Partnership. This agreement was the first of its kind to be signed and committed the two countries to work together on their respective industrial strategies.
In support of this work, The Japan Society is hosting a series of roundtable discussions between UK ministers and Japanese companies and UK businesses trading in or with Japan in each of the 8 priority sectors of the Industrial Strategy. The Japan Society is grateful to Deloitte LLP, for their leadership as series sponsor for these events.
The roundtable discussions will be for select relevant companies by invitation held under the Chatham House Rule, with a note taken for use by the UK Government and the Government of Japan to inform the deepening of the trade and investment links between the two countries and the implementation of the Industrial Strategy.
The special guests of this roundtable were the Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, Luke Pollard MP, Japanese Ambassador to the UK Hiroshi Suzuki and the UK's Trade Envoy to Japan, David Taylor MP. The event brought together Japanese firms whose work relates to Defence.
