The Japan Society Annual Golf Tournament, for the Asprey and Garrard Plate, will be held at Maidenhead Golf Course. The format will be Stableford.
The all-in price is £65, including coffee and a bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf and a sit-down supper on completion. BDO, a leading corporate member of the Japan Society, is generously providing the prizes, as well as the halfway house and drinks with supper. There will be competitions for ‘Nearest the Pin’ and ‘Longest Drive’.
Japan Society golfers will be playing on Maidenhead’s par 70 course. Situated in the heart of Maidenhead, the town centre is only a five-minute walk away. Opened in December 1896, the course has seen many improvements such as the recently implemented fairway watering scheme. At 6364 yds, Maidenhead Golf Course is a challenging test with protected greens. Set in 150 acres of woodland, the fairways are reasonably flat and provide an enjoyable walk.
The 1st is a great way to start your game with a generous width fairway to the 358-yard hole. At the first, with its well-guarded approach and 2 tiered green, you will get a hint of what to expect over the next 17 holes.
At stroke index 5, the 7th is a good test for all golfers. The sloping fairway must be considered when deciding where to aim your tee shot. The bushes on the right are a good target from the tee.
The 14th is perhaps the most challenging. A tight left to right dogleg provides a real challenge for all golfers. A drive that is too long or too short, too left or too right can leave a difficult shot to the green.

アスプレイ&ガラードプレートを懸けて競うジャパンソサエティ年次ゴルフトーナメントは、今年はメイデンヘッド・ゴルフコースにて開催します。対戦方式はステーブルフォールドです。
参加費の£６５には、到着後のコーヒーとベーコンロール、18ホールのプレー料金、競技後の着席ランチが含まれます。このイベントは、ジャパンソサエティのトップ企業会員BDOからの協賛を受け、各賞やハーフウェイハウスでの軽食お飲物などをご用意します。「ニアレストピン賞」や「ドライビングコンテスト賞」などの特別賞もあります。
町の中心部から徒歩5分に位置するメイデンヘッドは、パー70のゴルフコースです。1896年12月のオープン以来、近年導入されたフェアウェイの散水設備など、同ゴルフコースは多くの点で改良・改善しています。全長は6364ヤードで、グリーン周辺にはハザードが配置され、難易度が高いです。150エーカーの森林の中にあり、フェアウェイは適度に平坦なため、散歩を楽しむことができます。
1番は、358ヤードのホールにゆったりとした幅のフェアウェイがあり、スタートには最適です。しっかりとハザードが配置されたアプローチと2段グリーンがあり、その後の17ホールがどのようなコースになるかが予測できます。
ストロークインデックス5の7番ホールは、どのゴルファーにとっても良い挑戦となります。傾斜のあるフェアウェイは、ティーショットの狙いどころを決める際に考慮する必要があり、右の茂みは良い目標になります。
14番はおそらく最も難しいホールです。タイトな左から右へのドッグレッグは、どのレベルのゴルファーにとっても難易度が高いです。長すぎても短すぎても、左すぎても右すぎてもグリーンに届かない、難しいショットが求められます。
