Bring your family and friends and join us for a summer afternoon of family fun and entertainment in the peaceful surroundings of Hammersmith Park’s Japanese garden.

Our wonderful team of volunteers will be on hand to help you fold an origami animal, or to teach you how to write your name in Japanese. You can even create your own summer greetings card to give to your family and friends, a tradition in Japan during the warmer months!

Why not pack a picnic to enjoy on the grass under the shade of a tree, or try some delicious homemade wagashi from Café An an and onigiri from SushiHeads. Clearspring will join us with their range of organic snacks and tea, plus plenty more snacks and sweets to try from Ichiba!

Elevate your gift wrapping with Tamakurya and their range of beautiful furoshiki; and learn all about the history of the garden with the Japanese Garden Society and Friends of Hammersmith Garden.

Find out more about the soroban (or Japanese abacus) with Tomoko Hoult; play games with Tulip London for the chance to win prizes; and become a kendama master with Kendama London.

Plus, expect epic performances from Thames Daiko, and join in the Bon Odori!
