Sayuri Komachi possesses an extraordinary gift: the ability to discern the perfect book for those seeking direction in life. This narrative introduces us to the lives of five individuals at crucial junctures: a restless retail assistant eager for skill enhancement, a demoted mother returning from maternity leave, an accountant yearning to establish an antique store, a gifted manga artist in search of inspiration, and a retired salaryman seeking newfound purpose. Can Sayuri's recommendations fulfill their needs? What You Are Looking For is in the Library illuminates the allure of community libraries and the profound discovery of human connections. Globally cherished, this inspiring tale champions seizing opportunities, following one's heart, and realising cherished dreams through the transformative power of literature.

Michiko Aoyama was born in 1970 in Aichi Prefecture. After university, she became a reporter for a Japanese newspaper based in Sydney before moving back to Tokyo to work as a magazine editor. What You are Looking for is in the Library was shortlisted for the Japan Booksellers' Award and became a Japanese bestseller. It is being translated into more than twenty languages.
