Shocked to find her flat emptied, Rinko's life takes a dramatic turn. Abandoned by her boyfriend, she returns to her estranged village and mother, reigniting past connections. Determined, she opens a unique restaurant catering exclusively to one couple daily, crafting meals tailored to their desires. The Katatsumuri becomes a place where love rekindles, where a concubine rediscovers joy, a girl captures her lover's heart, and a surly man transforms into a beloved gentleman. Through its delicate cuisine, the restaurant heals hearts and reignites love, offering solace and enchantment in this tale of rediscovery and emotional rejuvenation.

Born in 1973, Ito Ogawa is the author of several children’s books. The Restaurant of Love Regained, her first novel, is a bestseller in Japan and has been adapted into a successful movie. Ito runs a hugely popular website where she offers daily recipes of Japanese cuisine.
