From September 2021 until January 2022, The British Museum displayed a collection of 103 rare drawings by Katsushika Hokusai for the first time in the exhibition: Hokusai: The Great Picture Book of Everything. The exhibition was accompanied by an extensive public programme as well as a catalogue which reproduced all 103 drawings at full size.
The public programme, which included options for school children and adults, consisted of online panel discussions, a downloadable teacher guide to support school visits to the exhibition, and several in-person Japanese printmaking workshops led by professional artist Hiroko Imada held for participants aged 14 – 18, and for families visiting the museum during half term, as well as for local community partners.
