The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra are pleased to welcome Fumiaki Miura for his first performance as their Artist in Residence for 2022. Born in Tokyo, Fumiaki Miura began his musical education with Tsugio Tokunaga before moving to Vienna to continue his studies. In 2009 he was awarded First Prize at the Joseph Joachim Hannover International Violin Competition, being the youngest winner ever.
On Thursday 9 February Miura will be performing Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto with the Orchestra. Filled with soaring melodies and glorious, virtuosic writing for the soloist, Miura has said: ‘The concerto is one of my most favourite concertos’.
