Sixth Form Japan Taster this Spring

Sixth Form Japan Taster this Spring

We are pleased to announce an in-person ‘Japan Taster’ event in London for Sixth Form students this March.

After a hiatus, we are once again able to offer UK sixth form students the opportunity to come together to learn about Japan and Japanese culture through cultural workshops and live speeches on Tuesday 29 March.

This spring’s free event has been designed for students who missed out on our Japan Day events during the pandemic with a chance to participate in two out of three workshops which are being offered for the very first time: Kokeshi, Hanko Making, and Soroban and Flash Anzan. In addition to the hands-on workshops, students will have the chance to hear from the theatre director Ailin Conant and put their questions to her, including about her latest work which is inspired by Shinto myth of the Japanese Sun Goddess and the God of Sea and Disease.

This event is open to all sixth form students with an interest in Japan who would like to find out more and may be particularly beneficial to students who are currently studying Japanese or who are considering studying Japanese Studies (or Japanese alongside other subjects) at university.
