Japanese New Year Card (Nengajo) Workshop - Photos

On Sunday 11 December, artist Aya Burbanks introduced participants to Nengajo, greeting cards sent during the New Year in Japan. Aya first shared a selection of her own designs featuring typical motifs, before teaching the techniques of boku-ga (ink wash painting). Inspired by Aya's designs and with her guidance, participants went on to create their own new year cards for 2023, the year of the rabbit.
