Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo: The City of Tokyo as a Financial and Tourist Centre - Photos

On 3 February, during a short visit to London, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike joined a special event with the Japan Society, kindly hosted by WTW where we were welcomed by Nobuto Ota, MD Japan Global Practice Group. She spoke about her vision for Tokyo as a centre for innovation and the potential for investment and growth, while also reminding the audience of the region's charms as a tourist destination. Governor Koike then spoke to Bill Emmott, Japan Society Chair, more broadly about Tokyo's welcome for visitors post-pandemic, its growth as a financial centre and policies for reaching net zero emissions. Members of the audience  then followed up with wide-ranging questions on these topics, opportunities for women in public life and Tokyo's vibrant art and culture scene.
