New Initiative for Youth in Greater London!

We are pleased to announce a new initiative for young people–the Japan Youth Collective.

Run by the Japan Society and supported by Japan House London Trust and the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, the Japan Youth Collective is a new initiative for 16-19 year olds with an interest in Japan, launching in summer 2023. Members of the Collective will work with the Japan Society on a pilot programme over 8 months to discover more about Japan while making friends and learning new skills.

The programme begins with a 2-day summer orientation in August 2023. Collective members then meet twice a month until end of March 2024 for Collective Catch-ups and practical Japan Labs, working with the Japan Society as well as professionals and cultural experts in Japan-related fields towards a programme finale which will be shaped by the Collective.

One of the Collective's core aims is to open up Japan-related activities to a wider audience; we hope the new initiative will provide a new opportunity to young people in Greater London who are keen to engage with and learn more about Japan but with limited opportunities to do so. The initiative will provide the selected members the opportunity to meet new people, work with professionals and experts in a variety of fields as they explore their interest in Japan and develop useful skills and experience for their future.

The application period opens from 30 May 2023. To learn more about the new initiative, please visit the Japan Youth Collective page for more information.
