Design Contest – UK-Japan Costume for the Emperor and Empress Dolls
Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan will be visiting His Majesty The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom in late June 2024. To celebrate this special occasion, we invite children to design a UK-Japan costume for a set of traditional emperor and empress hina dolls.
We're looking for designs which celebrate the special friendship between the UK and Japan. Send us your costume design for the dolls using elements which represent both Japan and the UK. You can use designs such as patterns in nature, national colours, symbolic animals, emblems and more. Have fun and let your creativity guide you!
