Crafting for the Festive Season: Japanese Woodblock Printing Workshop - Photos

On Saturday 29 November and Sunday 30 November 2025, we welcomed two small groups of members and friends to join us in celebrating the festive season in a special new year themed woodblock printing workshop, led by Hiroko Imada.

In this half-day introductory course, each group was guided through the fundamentals of moku-hanga, a traditional Japanese relief printing technique, going on to create and carve their own original woodblock which was then printed in black and white on Japanese paper. It was a pleasure to see everyone's unique designs!
