MIC! PROJECTOR! ACTION! Live Benshi Performance - Photos

On Thursday 20 November 2025, The Japan Society presented MIC! PROJECTOR! ACTION! – Live Benshi Performance at the historic Regent Street Cinema, the birthplace of British cinema nestled in the heart of London.

Narrators Koyata Aso and Guy Perryman MBE captivated the audience with dynamic storytelling, turning classic film excerpts into an unforgettable experience.

With support from the National Film Archive of Japan, the Toy Film Museum, Kyoto’s Matsuda Film Productions, and filmed for NHK World’s J‑Flicks, this event offered a rare glimpse into Japan’s silent‑film golden age, when benshi were bigger stars than the actors themselves.
