Japan Activity Chest

Traditional and modern aspects of Japan are brought to life with this chest full of authentic Japanese artefacts.

It comes equipped with objects such as yukata (cotton kimono), geta (wooden sandals), plastic sushi, a daruma doll, calligraphy materials, origami paper, maps and posters, traditional toys and cultural items, books and magazines, music CD, postcards and photo panels.

Perhaps most useful of all, the Activity Chest comes with teacher resource packs and full Teachers’ Notes explaining what the objects are. Please see below for our different activity chests.

Large Activity Chest

Presented in a large suitcase, this chest includes over 60 authentic everyday and traditional artifacts, introducing pupils to a wide range of Japanese life and culture. It is most suitable for topic learning lasting three weeks or more.

Medium Size Activity Chest

Presented in a large box, this chest includes over 40 authentic everyday and traditional artifacts, introducing pupils to a wide range of Japanese life and culture. It is most suitable for topic learning lasting up to three weeks.

Mini Activity Chest

The mini chest comes in a medium-sized box with three choices for different uses:

For classroom learning - everyday and traditional items with teacher's notes.
For clubs - cultural items and traditonal games.
For cultural events - Large and small traditional and decorative items for display and show-and-tell.
