Please make a date to join us in the beautiful Chelsea Physic Garden for this year's Annual Dinner. It's been a long time since the Japan Society family has been able to get together in this way and we look forward to catching up with members and their guests.
Where better to enjoy a long summer evening than in the fabulous setting of the historic Chelsea Physic Garden's unique living collection of edible, useful, medicinal and historical plants.
Chelsea Physic Garden is rare and wonderful enclosed garden dating from the seventeenth century. It was begun, in 1673, as a garden in which to grow plants for medicinal purposes and occupies four acres of land on the edge of the Thames, a location chosen to allow non-native plants to grow in the warmer microclimate created by the river.
The dinner is traditionally a black tie event and many guests will wear formal dress, but for those who prefer lounge suits, this is perfectly acceptable. Most people will be sitting at round tables of 10. If you have any seating preferences, please specify with whom you wish to be seated. Please also inform us of any special dietary requirements.
