When Takako's boyfriend announces his impending marriage with someone else, she reluctantly moves into her uncle Satoru's quaint space just above his enchanting Morisaki bookshop in Jimbocho, Tokyo. Amidst the vintage tomes lining its shelves, the shop becomes a refuge, a trove of solace for Takako's wounded heart. As seasons shift, the bond between Satoru and Takako deepens, revealing shared experiences beyond their differences. In the quiet embrace of the book-filled haven, they unearth profound lessons about life, love, and the potent healing of books.

Satoshi Yagisawa was born in Chiba in 1977 and lives in Tokyo. Days at the Morisaki Bookshop, his debut novel, was originally published in 2009 and won the Chiyoda Literature Prize. The book was a bestseller in Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan, and has been published in twenty-two countries.
