New Year’s Calligraphy Workshop - Photos
On Saturday 6 January, we welcomed a small group of members and friends to celebrate the start of 2024 in a series of kakizome (New Year’s Calligraphy) workshops. Guided by calligrapher, Yoko Takenami, participants learnt how Japanese characters were developed and discovered different styles of writing, before going on to create their own piece of calligraphy using techniques for writing Japanese with a brush.
