Japan Society members and their guests are invited to join us for a conversation with the Society's chairman, Bill Emmott and Sir Paul Tucker, former deputy governor of the Bank of England and now fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, to discuss themes raised in Sir Paul's new book Global Discord: Values and Power in a Fractured World Order.

We are delighted to welcome Ms Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, to share with members of the Japan Society her vision for Tokyo’s continued development as a global city. She will focus particularly on Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s strategies for Tokyo as a world-leading international financial centre, as well as sharing its attractions as a destination for inbound tourism.

The guests at the next Japan Society and JCCI Joint Lunch will be the co-Chairmen of the UK-Japan 21st Century Group, Mr Keizo Takemi and The Rt Hon the Lord Lansley, together with other British and Japanese members of the Group. It is a particular pleasure to be resuming these joint events with the JCCI on the occasion of this meeting of the UK-Japan 21st Century Group, attended by a delegation from Japan including senior parliamentarians, business people, diplomats, academics and representatives of the media.
