Teruko Kyuden
Teruko Kyuden is the SVP of VC Investment and a Research Analyst at Caygan Capital, a London/Singapore/Japan-based multi-strategy asset management firm serving institutional investors globally. She is responsible for global company fundamentals research and leads venture capital investments, with a particular focus on long-term investing in innovative technology companies addressing societal challenges, including labour shortages and climate change.
With 25 years of experience in investment banking and asset management across Japan, Singapore and the UK, Ms Kyuden has developed extensive expertise in corporate finance and investment analysis. Her experience spans both public and private markets and a broad range of asset classes, including fixed income, equities, convertible bonds, carbon credits and commodities.
Ms Kyuden began her career in investment banking, holding corporate finance roles at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs for 13 years in Japan. During this period, she advised government and public-sector clients on capital raising and strategic financial transactions before transitioning into investment management.
She joined Caygan Capital in Singapore in 2014 as a company fundamentals research analyst and relocated to the UK in 2015. Since then, she has expanded her responsibilities to include venture capital investments while broadening her research coverage across various asset classes. In her current role, she supports social-impact startups as a board observer, in addition to evaluates investment opportunities worldwide.
Having lived and worked across Japan, Singapore and the UK, Ms Kyuden brings an international perspective and is passionate about trengthening
ties between Japan and the United Kingdom through business, innovation and cultural exchange.
Ms Kyuden holds an MBA from London Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Tokyo.
