Join us on Wednesday 29 March (held regularly on the last Wednesday of the month) for the next session in our long-running Bilingual Public Speaking Club (BPSC). The topic for March is “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity”. Technology, of course, has many innumerable benefits and we are increasingly dependent on it. Is AI a bright future or a menace to our society?

Set in Tokyo over the course of one night, Aki and Hiro have decided to be together one last time in their shared flat before parting. Their relationship has broken down after a mountain trek during which their guide died inexplicably. Now each believes the other to be a murderer and is determined to extract a confession before the night is over. Who is the murderer and what really happened on the mountain?

The Japanese Conversation Group provides a friendly and informal atmosphere for Japanese speakers of all nationalities to come together and speak Japanese. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

13/02/2023ARCHIVED IN-PERSON EVENT - Japan Society Book Club: Ten Nights’ Dreams by Soseki Natsume


Ten Nights' Dreams is a series of short pieces by Sōseki Natsume. It was serialized in the Asahi Shimbun from July 25 to August 5, 1908. Sōseki writes of ten dreams set in various time periods, including his own time (the Meiji period) and as far back as the "age of the gods," and the Kamakura period.
